The Soapstone Comedy Club — Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026

The Unemployed Alcoholic LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates The Soapstone Comedy Club (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use our virtual reality App and its multiplayer and voice features.

For privacy questions or data deletion requests, email data@theunemployedalcoholic.com.

1. Information processed and why

Meta account and avatar information

To provide the App’s Meta account and avatar features, the App accesses:

• your app-scoped Meta user ID, an identifier specific to this App;
• your Meta username or display name; and
• your Meta avatar.

We use this information to display your avatar and name to you and other players and to connect you to the multiplayer experience. Your user ID is shared with other players’ devices in your session so their copy of the App can load your avatar from Meta.

The App does not use your profile picture or request your friends list, email address, or real name through Meta’s profile features. Information you choose to say during voice chat or include in a support message may contain additional personal information. Meta’s platform may also check that you are entitled to use the App.

Multiplayer and VR interaction information

To run shared virtual spaces, the App and its networking provider process:

• temporary player identifiers and room information for your session;
• your Meta avatar.
• avatar movement derived from your headset position, hand and finger positions from hand tracking or controllers, and an estimated body pose; and
• in-App actions, such as choosing a seat, signing up for and taking turns on stage, throwing tomatoes, applauding, and using other reactions.

Relevant information is transmitted during the session so other players can see your presence and interactions. The App does not retain movement histories or transmit camera images or raw hand-tracking sensor images. Derived avatar and hand movements are transmitted as part of the multiplayer experience.

Microphone audio

When your microphone is enabled for voice communication, the App captures your audio and streams it live through Photon Voice, integrated with Photon Fusion, so other players in your session can hear you. Audio is also processed locally where needed to animate your avatar’s mouth.

We do not create or retain voice recordings or transcripts, and the App does not submit voice recordings as part of moderation reports. You can mute yourself in the App and control microphone access through your device’s permission settings.

Settings saved on your headset

The App saves preferences on your device, including whether you have seen onboarding hints, your comfort choices such as seated or standing play and movement style, and whether you have visited the stage. We do not receive these preferences from the App or store them on our own servers.

If Meta Cloud Backup is enabled and includes the App’s data, these local settings may also be backed up by Meta and restored when you reinstall the App or change devices. Meta manages those backups through its platform services.

Support correspondence

If you contact us, we process your email address and the information you provide to answer your message and handle support or privacy requests.

Advertising and analytics

The App does not include advertising or developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting services. Meta may independently collect diagnostic and usage information about apps on its platform under its own privacy policies. Photon may process operational connection and service logs as described below.

2. Who receives information

Meta provides the platform, account, avatar, and any enabled platform backup services used by the App. Meta’s independent processing is governed by its own privacy policies, including its Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy:

https://www.meta.com/legal/privacy-policy

Photon, provided by Exit Games, supplies Photon Fusion multiplayer networking and Photon Voice communication. Photon processes identifiers, connection information including IP addresses, multiplayer data, and live audio needed to deliver these features. Its data handling is described in its applicable service terms and privacy information:

https://www.photonengine.com/terms/privacyandcookiepolicy
https://www.photonengine.com/terms/gdpr

Other participants receive the identity, avatar, movements, interactions, and voice communications made available to them through the multiplayer experience. Avoid sharing information in a public session that you do not want others to hear or see.

We may disclose information when required by applicable law or valid legal process.

We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to target ads.

3. Storage and retention

We do not operate our own game servers or retain session histories, movement histories, voice recordings, or transcripts after a session ends. Photon processes live multiplayer and voice data to provide the session and may retain connection and service logs for service operation, security, and troubleshooting under its applicable terms and privacy practices. Our deletion request process below also covers requests concerning personal information processed on our behalf by service providers.

Settings saved on your headset remain there until you remove the App’s local data, including by clearing its data or uninstalling it. Removing local data does not necessarily delete a Meta Cloud Backup. A retained backup may restore those settings later. You can manage and delete platform backups through Meta’s Cloud Backups controls.

We retain support and privacy correspondence until the request is resolved and for up to 12 months afterward, unless it is deleted sooner in response to a valid privacy request or longer retention is required by law.

We delete or irreversibly anonymize personal information we retain when it is no longer needed for its stated purpose, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.

4. Requesting deletion

All users, regardless of country or region, may request deletion of personal information we control, free of charge.

Email data@theunemployedalcoholic.com with the subject “The Soapstone Comedy Club – Data Deletion Request.”

Include your Meta username or app player identifier, if known. If you do not know your identifier, contact us for help. Do not send your password.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify that the request concerns your data. After verification, we will delete the personal information we control and arrange deletion by service providers processing that information on our behalf, where applicable.

We will respond without undue delay and within the time required by applicable law. If specific information must be retained to comply with a legal obligation, we will explain the reason and retain only what is required.

Information processed only temporarily may no longer exist when we receive your request. Deletion does not undo communications already heard or seen by other participants.

To remove settings stored locally on your headset, clear the App’s data or uninstall it. If those settings are included in Meta Cloud Backup, separately delete the relevant backup through Meta’s controls to prevent it from restoring the settings.

Deleting information associated with the App does not delete your Meta account or information Meta independently controls. Use Meta’s account and privacy controls to manage that information.

5. Your choices and other requests

You can mute your microphone in the App, manage microphone permission through your device settings, and manage your Meta profile and avatar through Meta’s services.

You may contact us to request access to or correction of personal information we hold. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, request portability, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to a data protection authority.

6. Age eligibility

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it, including seeking deletion by service providers processing it on our behalf where applicable.

Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information through the App may contact data@theunemployedalcoholic.com.

The App includes live voice communication with other players. Players can mute themselves in the App and contact us about privacy or safety concerns.

7. Policy changes

We will publish updates on this page and revise the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before changing our processing practices.
