If you don’t find the answer to your question here, you can reach out directly to us.

How do I visit The Soapstone?

You can join us in three ways: through the Meta Quest VR headset, the Meta Horizon mobile app, or via the web using your Facebook or Instagram apps.

Do I need VR to join?

Nope! You can access all of The Soapstone on mobile or web.

How can I sign up to perform?

Performers sign up through our Discord community, where we share schedules, guidelines, and upcoming open mic opportunities. You can also attend our 24/7 open mic without signing up.

Can anyone help run a show?

Yes! If you’re interested in hosting or moderating, we welcome new team members. Training and support are provided via Discord.

What kind of comedy is allowed?

All styles are welcome, as long as it aligns with our community standards of TV-Clean Comedy. We encourage creativity, originality, and respect.

Is The Soapstone really free?

Yes — visiting, spectating, performing, and participating in shows is free.

How do I stay connected with the community?

Our Discord is the hub for performers, hosts, and fans. That’s where you’ll find updates, conversations, and opportunities to get involved.

What’s the difference between Hanalei Bay (Ages 10+) and NYC 18+?

Hanalei Bay is open to everyone and is family-friendly, while NYC 18+ is designed for adult audiences to relax in a like-minded atmosphere.

Are there age restrictions to attend or perform?

Yes. Hanalei Bay is for Ages 10+, but NYC 18+ is limited to adults only.

Do I need prior comedy experience to perform?

Not at all. Whether it’s your first time on stage or your hundredth, everyone is welcome.

Can I invite friends or family to watch me perform?

Absolutely! They can join through mobile, or web or in VR — just like you.

How do I know when shows are happening?

Check our calendar on the website or Discord for show schedules, performer sign-ups, and reminders.

Is The Soapstone accessible on mobile devices?

Yes — just download the Meta Horizon app or join directly with your Facebook or Instagram account.

Can I record or stream my performances?

Yes, but please make sure to follow community standards and respect others’ privacy.

What kind of support is available for new performers?

We offer performer tips, training, workshops, guidelines, and a welcoming community that’s happy to help you prepare for your set.

How do I become a host or moderator?

Start by joining our Discord and letting us know you’re interested. We’ll guide you through the process.

What happens if someone breaks the community standards?

Depending on the situation, actions can range from a warning to removal from the club.

How do I go to the events?

Events happen regularly at The Soapstone! You can join by checking our event calendar. When the event starts, just click into The Soapstone world through VR, mobile, or web — the show will be waiting for you.

How do I get notification of events?

You can RSVP to the events on our website, Discord and through the Horizon Events system. You can also follow The Soapstone in Horizon Worlds to get event reminders right in your headset or mobile app.

How do I find a Team Soapstone member?

Team Soapstone members are usually hosting, moderating, or welcoming folks into the world. Look for name tags marked with “Soapstone Insider” in-world, or reach out in Discord where the whole team is active and available.

Why did I get removed from The Soapstone Comedy Club?

We want everyone to feel welcome, safe, and respected. If someone is removed, it’s usually because community standards were broken — like inappropriate behavior or content. Most removals last up to two hours after which time you are welcome to come back. If you are unable to return, reach out to us on bans@soapstonecomedy.com

Where is the comedy at?

The Soapstone runs Daily Live Events in our worlds, plus our 24/7 open mic is always open for performers. Check the Event Schedule on Discord or the website to see when the next big show is happening.

Can I buy merch that I see in the world?

Yes! Check out our Merch Store.

Who can I contact for help?

If you need help in-world, look for a Soapstone Insider member or moderator. For questions outside of shows, the best way to reach us is through Discord or our contact page.

Why are there two Soapstone worlds?

We run two versions of The Soapstone to serve different audiences: Hanalei Bay (ages 10+) and NYC 18+. This way, everyone can enjoy the comedy in the space that’s right for them.
